  The Mile Marker 24 Band

HowardHoward Livingston

Instruments: Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, and Baritone Guitar

Howard is a native of the mountains of eastern Kentucky. His mother spawned his love for music by introducing him to the guitar at age five. While the love of music never did leave him, his career pushed him in a different direction. While building his business, he traveled to the Florida Keys, where he developed a severe case of “Keys Fever” He never wanted to leave. The more he visited, the more music, and the keys called out to him. Finally, he surrendered. The islands called both he and his guitar. He teamed upo with this group of talented musicians and Mile Marker 24 was born and the island music goes on and on.

JasonJason Miller

Instruments: Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, and Baritone Guitar

Since I started playing guitar at age 12, I have always wanted to be a professional musician. After joining Mile Marker 24 in October 2005 I began travelling back and forth from Indiana to the Keys. I fell in love with the Keys and the whole lifestyle. Needless to say I finally traded in my snow angels for sand castles and my wife, Jamie, and I moved on down.

Dave HerzogDave Herzog

Instruments: Percussion, Steel Drums, Vocals

After saying goodbye to the cold winters of Minnesota, my wife, Barb, and I bought a sailboat and cruised the coasts of Florida. I played steel drums in many of the tiki bars along the way, 'til we reached the end of the road in Key West. We thought we'd stay for a few months and that was nearly eight years ago!

During those eight years I headed north during the summers to the Lakes Area of Minnesota where I played steel drums with the band "Island Time". That all changed when I first heard "Howard Livingston & the Mile Marker 24 band" in the Florida Keys. I realized that playing and touring with Mile Marker 24 would be a dream come true.

Now, as a member of the "Mile Marker 24 Band", I'm looking forward to playing the best venues in the Florida Keys and hitting some of the hot spots in our northern summer tours! Hope to catch you along the way!!

Our Extended Family

Les DudleyLes Dudley

Instruments: Saxophone

Les moved to Key West in 2004, and has appeared in many different musical venues since then. Upon arriving in Key West, he joined the Paradise Big Band as a tenor saxophonist, and since then has played in other musical productions and groups in Key West, such as “Annie" and “Grease”, as well as the Southernmost Brass.

A lifelong musician, Les majored in music at McGill University in Montreal. While at McGill, he studied classical saxophone with renowned saxophonist, Gerald Danovich, and also played clarinet in the McGill Symphony Orchestra. He received a B.S. in Education at Lyndon State College in Vermont, where he studied composition and arranging with Dr. Paul Dorsam.

Staff Sergeant Les Dudley also played saxophone in the excellent 40th U.S. Army Band, based in Colchester, VT, as well as several other groups, both professional and amateur.

Dave HerzogHulber Gagliardini

Instruments: Trumpet

Hulber Gagliardini is a graduate of Marathon High of the Florida Keys. After receiving his bachelor of Music Education, he received his Masters in trumpet performance from Northwestern University.  Since then he has traveled the world reaching all seven continents, serving as a musical director for both Princess and Cunard Cruise Lines. Hulber is now back home in the Keys as a part of the Mile Marker 24 family, teaching, and living la vida loca.

Bobby GreeneBobby Green

Instruments: Keyboards, Percussion

Bobby came to Key West one day many years ago, and well, he just never left. Best known as the writer of the “Conch Republic Anthem”, Bobby is also the Official Bearer of the Conch Republic Flag. He started out as a one-man piano show, until the rigors of playing caught up with him. He then settled in and played at his church. As luck would have it though, he found a home with Mile Marker 24, and has been pounding the ivories for them ever since.

Harry SchroederHarry Schroeder

Instruments: Trombone

Harry Schroeder, trombonist and arranger, dropped out into the Keys twenty-five years ago, after an academic career which included a Ph.D. in English and a faculty position at Yale. He has played in, arranged for, and led bands which included the Paradise Big Band and the Key West/Boston Jazz Collective, as well as backing up the Keys Chorale playing Bach, Mozart, and Schubert. He is also music critic to the city.

BobbieBobbie

My name is Bobbie and I am a ten year old Umbrella Cockatoo. I' m also Howard Livingston & MM24's 'MASCOT'.  I'm always there when Howard plays in the Keys and he always introduces me to the crowd (when the owners of the places he plays will let me in). Dancing and singing for Howie is one of my favorite things to do. I love to go see Howard and get so excited!!!!  He's the BEST!!!! So are all the band members.

When he's gone, it's really hard for me cause I miss him!! If he would adopt me, I would travel with him... it would be SO MUCH FUN!!!! I'm always good besides, if I'm not I can always 'Blame it on the  Margaritas' :) :)
